ED-209 Sixth Scale Figure Hot Toys

In February 2014 Hot Toys will release their new sixth scale figure of ED-2O9 from the 1987 film Robocop.

I have to say, twenty six years later and ED-209 is still one of my all-time favorite robots!

Just like all Hot Toys’ gear, this is a highly detailed 1/6 scale figure that is sculpted with extreme movie accurate detail that conveys a dead-on likeness of the original crime prevention droid.

There have been a few ED-209’s released over the years (like the Hot Toys Deluxe Sixth Scale ED-209 released in 2006) but this one looks like being the cream of the crop. It includes superior articulation in the arms, legs and claws enabling improved simulation of the robot’s movements.

Plus, it comes with an interchangeable battle damaged arm.

ED-209 also features sound; he’ll say three quotes from the film in addition to sporting various other film derived sound effects. The quotes he says from the film are:

‘Please put down your weapon. You have 20 seconds to comply.’

‘You now have 15 seconds to comply.’

‘You are in direct violation of Penal Code 1.13, Section 9. You have 5 seconds to comply. Four…three…two…one…I am now authorized to use physical force.’

That’s just so awesome! Back in 1987 when I was walking around the house chanting the above exact words in the deepest voice I could muster I would have done just about anything to own one of these!

China Girl Doll Oz the Great and Powerful

The China Girl Doll from Sam Raimi’s 2013 fantasy adventure film Oz the Great and Powerful might arguably be the cutest character ever seen on the silver screen.

There are various collector toys available that reproduce the China Girl Doll, such as Disney’s 14″ China Girl Doll, their 4″ version, or you can even get a life-size cardboard cutout made with an image from the film.

But none of these are a touch on the limited edition 19″ China Girl Doll from Disney Interactive Studios (as pictured).

She’s so damn cute I don’t know how it’s possible to not want one of these.

Limited to only 500 pieces, Disney Interactive Studios have produced an incredibly detailed reproduction of Oscar Digg’s fragile orphan friend who, I think few would argue, stole the show in Oz the Great and Powerful.

Each of the limited edition pieces are numbered and come with a Certificate of Authenticity.

Features include:

  • made from sculptured resin (not china)
  • designed with moving joints just like the doll in the film
  • uniquely hand painted
  • wooden base stand (measures: 1” H x 8” W x 6” D)
  • hand-sewn dress with satin and lace trim over bloomers and a drawstring-tie waist
  • comes in decorative box for safekeeping

Between now and the end of June 2013 DC Collectibles will release four 1/6 scale resin iconic statues based on characters from Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel.

Each of the statues is sculpted in resin by the artisans at Gentle Giant Studios.

They each measure 13 1/4-inches tall x 8 1/2-inches wide x 5 3/4-inches long.

The most iconic of the 1/6 scale statues is Superman himself, based on the likeness of actor Henry Cavill:
